Our youth team are in cup action at the Zeeco Stadium on Monday night and coach Paul Walker is desperate for a good crowd to get behind his boys.

Rushden & Diamonds Academy will provide a stern test for the Young Daniels in the semi-finals of the Northants Senior Youth League (NSYL) League Cup. Stamford have already overcome one side from Rushden in league action, while it is the Diamonds' academy side, who play in the NSYL South division, who travel to the Zeeco Stadium on Monday 31 March.

Coach walker, who has seen his young side made up of mostly first-year Under-18s come on leaps and bounds this season, wants to see Stamford fans come out in their numbers to push his side on to the NSYL League Cup final.

"Myself and the management team are really pleased with the way this young squad have developed this season," said Walker.

"Winning eight out of the last 11 games, and reaching the League Cup semi-final, they should be really pleased.

"Hopefully, with a big crowd, they can reach the final for the second consecutive year. The majority of this squad will remain next season, adding current talented Under-16s to it and so the future looks bright!

"The boys would appreciate all your support, new or old."

Tickets are available on the door, priced at £3 for adults and £1 for concessions, with kick-off at 7.45pm.
