Stamford AFC’s Young Daniels Under-8s Red enjoyed a landmark day for the club

after receiving an invitation to train and compete at Leicester City's state-of-the-art

facilities.

The invitation was recognition not only of the team’s outstanding results this season,

but also of the culture they have built. Unbeaten in their league and consistently

displaying excellent sportsmanship, the Stamford youngsters have earned a

reputation that reflects the core values of the Daniels badge.

The squad took part in six matches inside Leicester City’s impressive indoor dome,

facing strong opposition from across the Midlands. The Young Daniels tested

themselves against Southwell, Keyworth, Elite Soccer Stars (Leicester), Mawsley,

Whitworths and Eastwood, with teams travelling from Northamptonshire,

Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire to take part.

Throughout the day, the Young Daniels players showed confidence on the ball,

bravery in possession and a willingness to play the game the right way. The standard

of football on display matched the occasion, with the boys embracing the challenge

and competing with real maturity beyond their years.

Their performances did not go unnoticed. Leicester City academy coach Tom

Hancock was full of praise for the Stamford side, highlighting both the quality of their

play and the attractive style of football they produced against top local opposition.

Team manager Cathal McHugh was delighted with how the players represented the

club. “The lads did themselves and the club proud,” he said.

“To be invited here because of our success and the culture created by our players,

coaches and parents is a huge achievement.

“Days like this are special for the boys and something they will remember for a long

time.”

It was a memorable experience for everyone involved and another proud moment,

underlining the strength of the club’s youth pathway and the positive environment

being built.
