The Young Daniels mission is to primarily reach out to struggling local families and individuals this Christmas gifting Hampers with support and knowledge that people are thinking of them with care.
2020 has been a year of significant difficulty for many families struggling with Covid-19, furlough, redundancy, increased living costs and more, without resources or support to resolve difficult financial times, often creating other battles including mental & physical health issues.
Our football teams have been set a target of filling 200 boxes to distribute to our Stamford community.
Each team has been asked to collect items for the boxes and then as a club we spend a weekend filling the 200 boxes ready for Christmas Eve morning distribution.
We aim to contact all schools within the Stamford area to ask for their support in reaching out to the families they know would benefit from our project. We also plan to reach out to the homeless to let them know about our scheme.
On Christmas Eve between 10.00 – 12.00, our teams will come together at the club to provide hot drinks, soup and rolls, mince pies and cakes to our visitors and distribute our Christmas Hampers.
In addition, we will be offering an anonymous `drop off` where a box can be requested and delivered to the door.
Our Hampers will be prepared with care using donated contents containing non-perishable foods, biscuits, soups, coffee, tea, cereals, pasta, rice, toiletries such as, shampoo, soap, toothpaste and brushes, deodorant, warm gloves, hats, scarfs, colouring books and crayons, etc.
Many local companies have already offered kind support or financial donations.
Brooks & Partners Accountants based in St. Peters street have kindly offered to be a drop-off point for any donations.
